| The balcony was used by the elderly and infirm monks to observe the services. The doorway at the centre of the balcony leads directly to the monks dormitory.
The gated doorway leads up the nightstairs to the monks dormitory. This gave them direct access to the church for Vigils which began at 2am. The gated doorway at the bottom left of the picture leads to a small storage room. |
